About Keith

Keith was first elected to the Shoreline City Council in 2015. In that role and as Mayor and Deputy Mayor, he has worked to expand housing options, invest in transportation and light rail integration, strengthen environmental protections, and ensure public safety services keep pace with growth. Before serving on the Council, Keith chaired the Shoreline Planning Commission, helping guide thoughtful development that protects neighborhoods while planning responsibly for the future.

By profession, Keith is an attorney with experience in both public service and private practice. He served as a prosecutor in the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and later worked with the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague, prosecuting war crimes cases. He also served as Legal Director of Futurewise, advocating for responsible growth and environmental stewardship across Washington state.

A longtime Puget Sound resident, Keith and his wife, Sarah, are raising their family in Shoreline’s Richmond Beach neighborhood, where they are active in local schools and community life. Keith holds a bachelor’s degree from UCLA, a master’s degree from Tufts University, and a law degree from NYU. But his most important work, he says, is being a dad and showing up for his community — whether that’s volunteering or listening to neighbors at the doorstep.
